The aim is to make it as easy as possible for the owner to send a book, so we recommend a standard C4 envelope and cheap postage.

Books with a spine up to 5cm fit can fit in a C4 manilla envelope (Faltenversandtasche) which can be found in most stationary shops or online in several places. The site adds 25c for the envelope which should cover the cost in almost all cases. For example:
For larger and heavier books we recommend standard packing paper ("Packpapier"). Please beware though that the postage costs may be prohibitive, see below.

Unfortunately (and in contrast to Germany) there is no economic postage tier for sending books specifically, so the large letter is the cheapest. The cost for books above 2kg are not viable (compared to just ordering them or buying locally) and are therefore not supported in the platform.

*Strictly speaking the max of all three sides added can't be more than 90cm, but that exceeds the dimensions of any book I've ever seen.
